RIYADH —
The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) held a workshop in Riyadh recently, aiming at sharing Japanese transportation improvement experiences and technologies for the fast-growing Saudi transport sector.

The workshop was part of the efforts to achieve one of the goals set in “Saudi-Japan Vision 2030.”

The workshop was well attended with about 100 participants, having latest projects information sharing session by Saudi authorities and promotion session by Japanese private sectors. The audience including public and private business people actively exchanged ideas in the workshop and networking terms.

Over 50 Japanese business people were there, covering the fields of manufacturing, trade and finance and their presentation was about rock fall prevention technologies, metro and rail technologies, to name a few.

Eiichirou Oishi, assistant vice minister for International Affairs in MLIT on the Japanese sides and Haithem J. Gauwas, general manager, Cooperation & Agreement in Ministry of Transport on Saudi sides, were the key guests. The workshop had some appendix transportation infrastructure site visit programs for further business discussions.
