Batters dominate in Al Turki Main League 40-40 at EPCA

DHAHRAN — The Eastern Province Cricket Association (EPCA) tournament played under the banner of Al Turki Main League 40-40, sponsored by Al Turki in the memory of late Sikander Kamal Farooqui, witnessed some exciting matches in 2nd week.

Premier Division

Tamimi Cricket Club Outplayed Sikandar Kamal Farooqui Kings C.C by 8 wickets. Batting first SKFKCC posted the total of 235/8 in 40 overs, Mudassar Farooqui smashed 70 off 48 and Asif Mughal crafted 34 off 32 balls. Mohsin Ali and Imran Munir grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, TCC chased the target in 25 overs, Aqeel Azad made 102 off 64 balls and Imran Munir scored 75 off 54. Shiraz and Shahbaz took 1 wicket each.

Intelligent Qalandars CC defeated Pak Saudi CC by 3 wickets, PSCC posted total of 268/9 in 40 overs, Imran Arif scored 101 off 54 balls, while Zain and Aamir grabbed 3 wickets each. In reply, IQCC chased the target in 39.5 overs, Afaq Ahmad scored 92 not out, Mohsin Nawaz scored 70 off 63. Imran Arif took 3 wickets.

In another match, Kanoo Strikers CC defeated AAC CC by 5 wickets, batting first AACCC posted score of 225/9 in 35 overs. Zahid scored 74 off 70, Salman Ali Khan grabbed 3 wickets. In reply, KSCC chased the target in 34 overs, Arslan Ahsan scoring 48 off 43 balls, Owais Sheikh scoring 39 off 33, and Touseef grabbing 3 wickets.

Prime Division

Space Travel Falcons CC defeated DHL Snas CC by 74 runs, STFCC, batting first, posted huge total of 361/9 in 40 overs. Ubed Ramzan scored 112 runs, Imran Choudhary scored 60 off 36. Asad Kamal and Tahir grabbed 3 wickets each. In reply DHLSCC were restricted to 287/10 in 40 overs. Asad Kamal smashed 71 off 42, Iftikhar scored 52 off 58. Hatib took 4 wickets, Mohammad Farhan grabbed 3 wickets.

Enerco CC won against Bin Delamah Yorkers CC by 1 wicket in a thriller. Batting first, BDYCC posted the score of 274/7 in 40 overs, with Waheed scoring 61 of 69. Mubashir and Aown grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, ENCC chased the target 278/9 in 39 overs. Dilawar scored 56 off 49, and Kiran took 3 wickets.

Tuskers CC won against Globelink West Star Shipping CC by 29 runs. Batting first, TSCC posted 240/10 in 40 overs. Naushad Bajal scored 56 off 50 balls, Feroz scored 35 off 41. Syamkumar took 4 wickets. In reply, GWSSCC were restricted to 211/10 in 40 overs. Shanavas scored 69. Naushad took 4 wickets, while Deepak and Renjith took 2 wickets each.

First Division

Manglore CC defeated U Turn XI CC by 133 runs. Batting first, MCC posted huge total of 290 in 40 overs, Imran Polali scored 74 runs off 68 balls, Aquibulla made 72 off 66. Shahid and Waseem took 2 wickets each. In reply, UTXICC were bundled out for 157 in 24 overs, with Nadeem scoring 45 runs. Muneeb grabbed 4 wickets, Noor and Imran took 2 wickets each.

Jana Marine Young Guns CC won against Kefah SRT CC by 14 runs. Batting first JMYGCC posted the score of 327/8 in 40 overs, with Shoaib Noor scoring 95* off 54, and Arsalan scoring 56 off 52. Faheem and Syed grabbed 3 wickets each. In Reply, KHSCC bundled out for 313 in 39 overs. Ayub scored 49 off 38, Naeem took 3 wickets, Shoaib and Waseem grabbed 2 wickets each.

Cloud 7 CC defeated Kishmar Valley CC by 9 wickets. Batting first, KVCC posted the total of 255/10 in 40 overs. Asif Maqbool scored 72 off 66 balls, Azarudeen grabbed 4 wickets and Rajeesh Ahammed took 3 wickets. In reply, C7CC chased the target in 29 overs, Mohammed Sarwar scored 101* off 88 balls, Shafi scored 63.

Khobar Rangers CC defeated Eastern Warriors CC by 7 wickets. Batting first EWCC posted the total of 208/10 in 40 overs. Shameeyulla scored 38 runs off 58 balls and Khatib took 4 wickets. In reply, KRCC chased the target in 27 overs. Hassan Gul scored 77 off 78, Sadaam made 58 off 42. — SG
