RIYADH – A new consignment of Saudi aid via the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) arrived on Monday in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Tuesday.

The aid included 60 ultrasound imaging machines, 30 ventilators, 89 defibrillators, 200 intravenous pumps, 277 patient monitoring machines, 500 intravenous serum pumps, and 3 kidney dialyzers.

KSRelief had handed over earlier batches last month. Additional batches of Saudi aid will be sent to China in the forthcoming weeks.

These aid consignments have been dispatched, in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, to provide urgent aid to the People’s Republic of China to help in overcoming the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

It is noteworthy that the Center had signed six contracts to secure medical equipment and requirements to combat the epidemic in China.

This reaffirms the pioneering humanitarian role the Kingdom is carrying out in alleviating human suffering from all peoples who are in need for assistance, worldwide (due to calamities). — SG/SPA
