DUBAI -- Qatar on Saturday banned all forms of gatherings by law, including but not limited to the Corniche, public parks, beaches and social gatherings, as part of the country’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The decision was made by Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The government will be deploying mobile patrols and arresting anyone who violates this law, establishing check points across the country, and creating a dedicated hotline: 44579999 – to receive reports and complaints related to any violations to this law or other laws. -- Al Arabiya English
