BURAIDAH —
Al-Qassim Mayoralty is using a drone, fitted with modern thermal cameras and functioning according to artificial intelligence, to monitor the body temperatures of market-goers in Buraidah Livestock Market, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Saturday.

This comes within the precautionary measures to combat new coronavirus (COVID-19).

The drone uses air thermal scanning technology, as it is fitted with modern multispectral thermal cameras functioning according to artificial intelligence.

The drone reads the individual’s body temperature in the crowds of human beings or in human groups in open areas.

The drone can pinpoint those with abnormal temperatures automatically. After that, preventive measures are taken to ensure the safety of people in the market.

This comes within the precautionary measures being taken by Al-Qassim Mayoralty to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), in addition to a package of precautionary measures for market-goers by providing them with sanitizers and guidance information.
