Curfew extended in six Makkah districts

MAKKAH —
Ministry of Interior on Monday extended the curfew period in the districts of Ajyad, Al-Masafi, Al-Misfalah, Al-Hujun, Al-Nakasa and Housh Bakr in Makkah. These measures are aimed at preventing anyone from entering or leaving these areas all through the day.

The move comes as part of the precautionary and preventive measures to safeguard the health and safety of citizens and residents and based on the health recommendations submitted by the concerned authorities, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported quoting an official source at the ministry.The measure came into force at 3 p.m. Monday (March 30) for an unspecified period.

In a statement, the source said people in the mentioned districts are allowed to satisfy their urgent needs (health care and groceries) within the limits of the exclusion area from (6 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), urging them to implement a self-quarantine in homes and to contact Health Center (937) if any coronavirus symptoms emerge.

The source said the ban on movement inside the aforementioned districts doesn't apply on the entities exempted in the curfew order.
