Total curfew imposed in six Madinah districts

RIYADH — As part of the efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the Kingdom, the authorities have imposed a total curfew in six Madinah districts and a partial curfew in the seventh till further notice, Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday citing an official source at the Ministry of Interior.

The new preventive measure, which comes into effect on Friday (April 10), has been taken on the recommendations of the health and other relevant authorities that are continuously monitoring the developments with regard to coronavirus.

With regard to implementation of new measure, the following decisions have been taken:

— To impose total curfew in six Madinah districts, and a partial curfew in the seventh effective Friday (April 10) till further notice.

— The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development shall undertake providing the needy, in these quarters, with food baskets, other supply items and to follow up their needs on a regular basis.

— The Ministry of Health shall provide medicines and necessary medical services to them.

— Delivery to house services are allowed during the curfew time, provided necessary sanitary conditions are met under the supervision of the principality of the region.

— The Ministry of Interior called upon all residents of these mentioned quarters to maintain public, exhorting all to abide by social distancing and self-isolation regulations in the public interest.
