RIYADH — Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadley has announced the launch of the application "Protect my environment", through which citizens may report environmental violations.

Deputy Minister of Environment Dr. Osama Faqeeha emphasized that the community is a crucial partner in protecting and bettering the environment, and the application is a manner in which citizens may actively contribute to the protection of the environment by reporting any violation in this regard.

According to Faqeeha, violations of wildlife, environmental compliance, and the state of the vegetation cover may be reported via the app.

The program uses the unified data center to gather, store, and handle reports in an effort to improve governance of the environment and track registered reports with professionalism and properly.

In order to report a violation, an individual needs to select the area where it happens on a map, file the report and attach picture/s, upload and send all so that the support team can refer it to the appropriate party for follow-up and action.

The application refers the reports submitted to the concerned authority within 180 seconds.

This new application is part of the Ministry's efforts to meet the strategic objective of undergoing digital transformation and increasing the number of electronic services offered to residents. — SPA
