DUBAI — The UAE has announced on Sunday a cabinet reshuffle, highlighted by the appointment of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum as Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister, according to Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, on Sunday.
“Sheikh Hamdan is a leader who loves his people and is loved by them. We have immense confidence that he will greatly contribute to the UAE government and play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s future,” Sheikh Mohammed stated.
Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been named Deputy Prime Minister while retaining his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Other significant appointments include Sarah Al-Amiri as Minister of Education, Ahmed Belhoul as Minister of Sports, Abdul Rahman Al-Awar as Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Alia Al-Mazroui as Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. — Agencies
