PISJ (Azizia) founded in 1959, as Pakistan Embassy School, was primarily established to meet the educational needs of the children of Pakistan Embassy staff. The school commenced operation in 1959–1960 under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was housed in two buildings in Al-Baghdadia. As the community enlarged and students enrollment increased the need for a spacious and purpose-oriented building was felt.

1984 is the year that stands as a milestone in the history of this institution. To meet the new requirements, the first purpose-built building was constructed in 1984 with the facility of two separate wings for boys and girls. Today, PISJ is one of the largest community-based school among all the schools abroad. The number of students in the institution has reached 9,500. It provides educational facilities to all Pakistanis living in Jeddah and Makkah.

By the end of every academic year, a private examination is also conducted in different cities of the Kingdom under the Home Examination department of PISJ to evaluate the student’s academic standard. This facility is for those students who cannot attend the school regularly due one reason or another.

PISJ is an affiliated institution of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad, and is an approved center for examination of different prestigious institutions situated in Pakistan i.e. Karachi University, Allama Iqbal Open University and Preston University.

Today, the school is equipped with air-conditioned classrooms, an auditorium, two libraries, five well-equipped science laboratories, two language labs, two computer labs and one sick bay for sick students.

Every institution is known by its final product, which verifies the educational standard of the institution. A large number of our outgoing students of pre-engineering and pre-medical are being admitted in professional colleges/universities of Pakistan on open merit basis. Our four bright students, of same session Abdullah Khalil secured 10th position, Osama Ansari secured 50th position, Raza Khalid secured 90th position in the entry test of most prestigious institution of Pakistan NUST, Islamabad. In our previous session 2012-13 Irum Rafiq secured 14th position in the entry test of NUST Islamabad — an institution of top magnitude in our country.

Apart from our, academic achievements, the institution enjoys a unique position in the co-curricular activities. PISJ is not only the pioneer but also the custodian of English debates in KSA. The students of our institution have won five consecutive English debate trophies in the competition held on intermediate level throughout KSA.

The organizational structure of school is as follows:

The primary section from Prep to V is headed by Ms. Alia Anwar and from class 6 to 12 is headed by Vice Principal (girls wing) Ms. Farhat Un Nisa. In the boys wing from class 6 to 8 is headed by Abdul Aleem Amir and from class 9 to 12 Khalil Imran is rendering his valuable services (as sectional head senior). Bilal (the Acting Principal) is the overall in-charge of this organizational structure.

In 2000, through a royal order all the Embassy Schools were directed to be run by the School Managing Committee (SMC), comprising parents of the students. The panel was to be nominated by Pakistan Ambassador.

The present SMC, comprising seven members, is playing their constructive role in the development of the school. In particular, Fazal Subhan, the present Chairman SMC, is leading his team from the front and rendering valuable services to the students as well as to the school. During his tenure, more than 80 teachers have been legalized and have come under the school’s sponsorship. That is the major achievement on his part under the stringent service condition of the Kingdom. They have also given financial benefits to the staff so that they may work in a more congenial atmosphere.

Last, but not the least, Mohammad Bilal, the principal, is striving hard to facilitate the community by introducing one window operation for Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Affairs, school leaving certificate and admission department. With the cooperation of the chairman, he has introduced messaging systems for the absent students on daily basis. There are a lot more programs of this kind which are in the pipe line under the slogan of “Ideas Plus”.
