Italy will host the 57th Venice Biennale 2017, Viva Art Viva that starts from May 13th ending in November.

Dedicated to art lovers Venice Biennale is an arts organization based in Venice. La Biennale di Venezia is a contemporary visual art exhibition which is held biennially, in 'odd-numbered' years. The Biennale Foundation is continuously supporting the art and artists by organizing various events. Among other artists, Maha Malluh from Saudi Arabia was also invited to participate at this year's edition of La Biennale di Venezia in Italy. For this special occasion she will be presenting her latest installation from her acclaimed 'Food for Thought' series composed of audio tapes and wood bread-baking trays. “I am invited to show my work with 120 artists chosen from 51 countries by the Venice Biennale curator Christine Macel to participate this year in the 57th Venice Biennale 2017, Viva Art Viva'" Malluh told Saudi Gazette.

“The Venice Biennale is the world's biggest and most important international art event and a rare opportunity for artists to show their work. So, I would like to say that I am honored and grateful to be invited to the 57th Venice Biennale this year by its wonderful curator” she said.

The director defined this year’s Biennale as "designed with the artists, by the artists and for the artists”.

The work of Maha Malluh pays homage to her home country: ʻa land of contrasting images and ideas'. As one of several artists who represent the growing emergence of the Middle Eastern art scene, Malluh works with the concept of representation and how our belongings define us. Her work is an insightful amalgamation, which discusses the importance of heritage, balance and growth.
