ALBASSAMI International Business Group, the market leader in the vehicle transportation business in Saudi Arabia, has procured 300 units of the 4X2 Scania tractor heads from General Contracting Company-Olayan Group, the exclusive distributor for Scania trucks in the Kingdom.
AlBassami have been in the transportation business since 1968 and their fleet of more than 2,000 trucks consists of various brands which they have tried and tested over the years. They hold plus 65% market share in the vehicle transportation segment, and operate through 47 locations in KSA and neighboring countries.
“We comprehensively evaluated several brands and found that Scania provided the best overall total operating cost, considering fuel consumption as well as repair and maintenance costs,” said Mohammed Muhi AlBassami, the chairman of Al Bassami. “Another decisive factor has been Olayan’s extensive workshop network and after-market support in the Kingdom.
GCC, with Scania, joined forces to provide a comprehensive commercial package that included features to meet and exceed Bassami’s expectations. We have both expanded our service points and certified these to the highest standard.
