Hyundai has been recognized for excellence in automotive marketing in Saudi Arabia, winning two categories in the prestigious PR Arabia Awards Auto Awards. Hyundai received the awards, for Best Marketing Campaign and Best Motorsports Campaign, from Prince Abdallah Bin Saud, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Tourism of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jeddah, in a ceremony at the Hilton Jeddah Hotel.

Hyundai’s work promoting the All-new Elantra was judged the best marketing campaign, while the Al Majdouie Motor Sport Program, sponsored by Hyundai, won the motorsport category.

“Hyundai is honored to receive these awards, recognizing the quality of our work across the full spectrum of the automotive industry,” said Jin (James) Kim, Vice-President and Head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East.

“Hyundai is the market leader for passenger car sales in the Saudi market, and of course the primary reason for this is the quality and desirability of our products. Being successful in the motor industry, however, involves many complex tasks, making sure every aspect of the customer experience is positive, from the advertisements they see, to the service they receive before, during, and after their purchase.”

Organized by PR Arabia, a leading media agency specializing in the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia, the awards are run under the supervision of the Saudi Arabia Motor Federation and the National Committee for Car Dealers.

Product categories included Best Sedan Vehicle, Best SUV, and Best Sports Car, with awards also for Best Marketing Campaign, Best Traffic Awareness Campaign, Best Car Dealer, Best Regional Office, and Best Motor Sports Program, among others. A public vote decided the winners, with around 280,000 votes cast.

“The aim of the awards is not only to highlight excellence in cars themselves,” said PR Arabia managing director Walid Karanouh, “but also the support services and activities carried out by car manufacturers and their distributors in the Middle East generally, and most specifically in Saudi Arabia.”

The wins for Hyundai follow the All-new Elantra being named Best Small Sedan in the Middle East Car of the Year Awards, held at the end of March. — SG
