MUSCAT, Oman — With the concentration on fuel efficiency, power, and prestige, Nissan has launched Patrol V6 in Muscat on Aug. 30 during a media press conference.
The car will be available in the Saudi market, as well as in the Middle East by the beginning of September.

Patrol V6, considered being a replacement of the discontinued SE V8, will be available in the market with seven variations. Because of its external design, power, comfort, and fuel efficiency, V6 would be a smart choice for families who like to buy cars that mix between elegance, power, and safety. It is the suitable choice for consumers who prefer to increase fuel economy.

The development process of the V6 has started four years ago and two years later, the company made several tests in the region to meet all types of terrain and temperature conditions. Patrol V6, is the best in class in performance in the market and is part of the Patrol family that meets the demand of new consumers category.

Fadi Ghosn, Chief Marketing Officer for the Middle Eastern Region and Marketing Director of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd, said “our purpose of introducing V6 is to have a new member in Patrol family, so we can reach new customers’ category that we could not reach before. Those customers that are looking for a car with the same size of Patrol and its power but with a smaller engine and it has a fuel consumption that can work more economically. Today, we are presenting Patrol V6 to that group.”

Patrol V6 has 275 horsepower and 394 Nm, so it offers 12 percent more torque in the driving range than the competitors. V6, the everyday family car, retains the same towing capacity of the Patrol V8.

With assistance from Nissan, Saudi Gazette had a chance to test drive the car and found that it has suitable safety features that fit families with children. Patrol V6 safety features include forward collision warning, intelligent park assistant, blind spot warning and blind spot intervention system, crash-sensitive door unlock, locking rear differential, and most importantly, six SRS airbag system.
Female passengers will enjoy their journey with this car since it is very comfortable and it is has a suitable space for passengers in the back.

Patrol V6, which has an exceptional passenger and baggage space, has several entertainment features such as multi-screen DVD Entertainment System and a small fridge.
Ghosn noted that Nissan Patrol sales has increased in the past years in the Middle East and its business has expanded close to 4 times from 2011 to 2015. Ninety percent of the buyers in the past year are from the Kingdom. He added that the company is aiming to grow by 20 percent in the coming two years.
