Dubai’s largest outdoor Global Village bazaar has succeeded in grabbing tourists attention, presenting them with the traditions and cultures of several countries through their products, cuisine, and various performances.

Entering the bazar, visitors will find several international statues presented at the entrance gate, including a statue to freedom. The gate is considered one of the biggest gates for an outdoor marketplace globally.

People can also enjoy listening to music and watching dance performances from each country held in the middle of the village and inside each country’s section.

At the United Arab Emirates section, visitors can watch a group of young and older performers showcasing traditional dance.

Traditional foods are also available inside each country’s section, and visitors can also find small booths while walking in the village.

Global Village opened on November 3 will continue till April 9, and is open everyday until 11p.m.

Ahmed, one of the Arab visitors, said: “I enjoy watching several cultures at the same time. I bought several products from the Chinese section. I think the only fact that I did not like in the bazaar is the prices. When you go to an open market usually the price is very low, but here not all the shops have low prices. But it is still lower that the malls,”

Maha Fadel, a Bahraini visitor, said that the idea of the bazaar was beautiful, as different countries were together in one place, and people can find a variety of products. It is a nice idea, yet they should focus more one the quality of the products and put more choices in the products. They must also focus on distributing the products selling location correctly. For example, having Abaya’s booth in the Russian section logically is not convenient and is not related to the country traditions.”

In 2015, the village received more than five million visitors, with almost 20 percent of visitors being tourists in the UAE.
