Thousands of food-lovers descended on the sprawling Hitex grounds in Hyderabad to enjoy a three-day food festival organized by the Hyderabad Ultimate Food Fest (HUFF) in association with Telangana Tourism and Happening Hyderabad recently. The event attracted the young and old from far and wide to enjoy good food and entertainment.

The fest was inaugurated by Mohammed Mahmood Ali, deputy chief minister of southern Indian state of Telangana, in the presence of Mohammed Azharuddin, former Indian cricketer and renowned social activist and politician Mohammed Khaleequr Rahman, Farooq Hussain, member of state legislative council, Mohib Baig, great grandson of 7th Nizam, among other dignitaries and eminent people from different walks of life.

Apart from food and entertainment, the fest also promoted a social cause by putting up a special stall “Youth Against Speed” to create awareness about the consequences of speeding.

From Haleem to biryani, kebabs to veg rolls, grills to desserts — there were delicacies to suit all tastes, all lovingly created and sought out by people in Hyderabad. There were more than 35 food stalls in the fest.

Along with the delicious food from the kitchens of Nizam, the HUFF organized live music performances. The inaugural day saw a mesmerizing performance of Kutle Khan, a multi-talented folk musician who has performed on various stages in more than 53 countries across the world. He performed for Kutle Khan Project, which is the unique collection of Rajasthani folk musicians performing live.  His performances are about his understanding of contemporary Indian and Western musical traditions which included the famous Sufi numbers like Dama Dam Mast Qalander, Laal Mori and more.

The different famous food joints of HUFF served items like Mutton Lukhmi, Mutton Shikampur, Nizami Kabab, Ustad special, Pathar ka ghost, Dum ki Raan, Chicken and Mutton biryani, Methi Chicken, Kareli Ghost, Mutton Pasinda and more.

“HUFF is a good initiative for Hyderabad food-lovers. I came here with my friends to eat haleem from Pista House. We also found some delicious Hyderabadi food here. Gathering of all famous restaurants at one place is appreciable. We request the organizers to conduct this type of food festival every year,” said a software engineer at the event.
