Muslims all around the world break their fasts with dates during Ramadan. There are so many benefits of dates and this week we list the most essential ones for those who are missing out on this heavenly fruit. You can even whip up some delicious desserts with dates using cream, yoghurt, flour, eggs and milk. As most dry fruits, dates have a lot of nutritional value. With a great amount of minerals, natural fiber and vitamins, dates are actually low in cholestrol and can be enjoyed by many of those who face health issues.  The potassium content of dates makes it good food for the heart as it balances it out with low sodium content. Dates are certified as ‘heart healthy foods’ by the American Heart Association because of their low cholesterol and saturated fat content.

Dates are also the best source of energy, loaded with dietary fiber and carbohydrates that provide you with a natural boost.  Dates help facilitate the digestive process, due to the different kinds of amino acids they contain, that help ease the digestion process and also prevents overeating. The vitamin B in dates are good for your hair and this is because they help cure anemia. Dates are also great for your kids as they contain nutrients that are essential for their healthy growth and development. So integrate dates into your daily routine, even if you are using it as a substitute for sugar in desserts for a healthier lifestyle.
