SOME electronic newspapers, as well as the print media, fail sometimes to give suitable titles for certain report. This might end up in making the report sarcastic to the readers, no matter how patriotic and developed it actually was.

One of the Public Investment Fund projects is Al-Qidiya located in the southwest of Riyadh. This project is considered one of the most important development projects. These kinds of projects are there to benefit the coming generations both economically and culturally. It is there to benefit a strong, responsible and knowledgeable generation — a generation that does not suffer from unemployment because it owns the necessary tools to achieve their goals.

Many of us are actually betting on the next generation. They bet on the next generation’s ability to make stone carving similar to the way erosion has done to the mountains around Al-Qidiya, the upcoming cultural landmark to be built southwest of Riyadh.

The fact that some people were sarcastic of a title published in one of the electronic newspapers stating that Saudis are pleased to have Al-Qidiya project made us feel that the media only targets a certain segment of people who cares about food, clothing and shelter alone.

Unfortunately, there is a large number of Saudis against development to the extent that they try to stop it by all means possible. Some of them even try to be ironic and sarcastic about such developmental projects. As a matter of fact, history proves this as they continue finding illogical excuses to stop the development taking place in the Kingdom.

The patriotic Saudis who truly love their country and care about the coming generations are surely delightful that the country is working on its development, whether it is focused on entertainment, tourism, or any other sector.
