Dear Excellencies,

I present you my compliments. On behalf of a good number of Saudis, I wish to thank you very much indeed for the good job you are doing in our country through the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and his government. May Allah bless and reward you all.

We want to encourage you to continue doing a good job. For the past two years, your ministries (Health and Haj) have prevented/restricted pilgrims from the Ebola-affected countries Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia from performing Haj. This was done not to deprive them of their religious rights, but to protect the well-being of your citizens and other pilgrims coming from different parts of the world. That move was not only welcomed by Saudis, but also by the greater number of Muslims and non-Muslims around the world.

We heard news about the end of Ebola in those countries and then within a short period of time, we heard again about the disease rearing its ugly head, which has led to the declaration and re-declaration of the end of the disease in those countries. So, there is no guarantee that the epidemic is over.

Your Excellencies, in as much as we are praying for the immediate end of the disease, we want you to continue with the restriction until next year, when it will be clear if there are or are not new cases being reported in those countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) may have declared one or two of those countries free of Ebola, but health authorities in those countries are still skeptical about the scourge and those countries are still adhering to Ebola regulations, which is a clear indication that the scourge is still around.

Your Excellencies, we thank you very much for your relentless efforts in protecting the lives of ordinary Saudis.
