RIYADH - Black Cinema Productions (BCP) marked its first anniversary and held a grand iftar dinner at Pak house restaurant recently.

BCP, a production house of young talented Pakistanis, have in a very short span of time produced quality videos, public service messages, skits and various other entertainment-based videos.

BCP is equipped with latest media tools, their creative team is a combination of directors, writers, actors and professional crew that includes Billal Arshad, Talal Safdar, Zaid Dawood, Waseem Sahir, Salman Anwar, Mahmood Yasin, Kashif Abid, Waleed Ijaz Awan, Nasir Abdul Jabbar, Shiraz Alam and Waqar Wamiq.

The anniversary program was presided over by Muhammad Tanveer, principal of Pakistan International School English section (PISES). Principal Tahir Raza Abid of Pakistan International School Nasiriyah (PISR) was the chief guest of the occasion, while Wamiq, honorary director of BCP, conducted the program ably.

The program formally began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by marketing manager of BCP Talal Safdar, Irfan presented a soulful naat.

A presentation about the BCP by assistant director of BCP Zaid Dawood followed. The presentation elaborated on the formation of BCP, its activities and an introduction of team BCP. A short trailer of BCP’s first short movie “Bedaar — The Awaken” was also shown to the audience. Bedaar is soon going to be launched at an international film festival and later will be aired by a reputable TV channel.

Chief Guest Tahir Raza Abid praised the team BCP, and said, “I am very happy to see all these youngsters as young professionals, it’s a matter of high satisfaction for me that my students are now contributing to the society in a respectable manner, I wish them best of luck ahead.”

Principal Muhammad Tanvir applauded the professionalism of BCP in his speech, and said, “Our youth are full of talent and BCP is a great example for the rest. I am glad to see their creativeness and dedication in their work. Today I feel proud to see my students as positive contributors to the society.”

The young and talented director of BCP, Bilal Arshad, was very upbeat about his production house. He said, “We at BCP promise you to bring great yet different stories to the screens. We are very much dedicated to provide a diverse range of quality entertainment for today’s generation.”

Several noted speakers talked about BCP and praised them in their speeches that included R.J. Fawad, Omair Sheikh of versatile & intellective productions and Dr. Tariq Aziz of Halqa-e-Fikr-O-Funn.

The anniversary program was attended by people from all walks of life, especially the fans of BCP and it ended with iftar followed by a sumptuous dinner.
