RIYADH – The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted a missile fired by the Houthi militias, targeting Jazan city, the Command of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to Back the legitimate and internationally-recognized Yemeni government of President Mansour Hadi, announced here Friday.
The Coalition statement said that on Friday afternoon, a missile launched from inside Yemeni territories was intercepted and destroyed by the Saudi forces.
In addition, the Coalition Air Force pinpointed the launching site of the missile and, immediately, retaliated with airstrikes.
In another development, the Arab Coalition intercepted three Houthi launches (large motorboats), off the Midi seaport in Yemen on Thursday, the Coalition Command announced here Friday, adding that the launches were planning to attack coalition ships on their daily missions.
The coalition navy destroyed one of them, captured the other, with its full crew, while the third managed to escape to the high seas.
However, the navy has given chase to the third boat, while the arrested crew members are being questioned. — SPA
