PARIS – No Saudi citizens were among those killed or wounded in the terrorist attack Thursday night in the French city of Nice, according to the Kingdom’s ambassador to France.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Khaled Al-Anqari said the embassy was closely following up the developments and made all efforts to find out whether any citizens were among the victims.

“The very first moment since the embassy received information about the attack, it opened an operation room and mobilized all resources to find out whether there were any Saudis among the victims. The embassy had constituted a team that left immediately for Nice to make on the spot investigations by visiting hospitals where the victims were taken, besides making continuous contacts with the concerned French authorities,” Al-Anqari said, adding that so far there was no report of any Saudi victims.

Al-Anqari offered condolences to the government and people of France as well as to the bereaved families. He wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
