KUWAIT — Delegates of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) conveyed their appreciation for Kuwaiti Emir's humanitarian efforts in his quest to mitigate the impacts of conflicts worldwide.

In its closing day on Wednesday, the delegates congratulated the Emir, who was named by the United Nations (UN) as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center."

The conference disclosed plans to forge partnerships with global news agencies such as Reuters, where training programs will be held on a regular basis.

The conference also underscored the need for further collaboration between Arab news agencies, which will ultimately boost competitiveness in the Arab media sector.

The delegates expressed gratitude to Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for his extensive support to the Arab media, said KUNA Board Chairman and Director General and FANA Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah.

The Kuwaiti Premier on Tuesday received chiefs of the Arab news agencies taking part in FANA's 44th General Assembly, Kuwait, October 18-19.
