Aden — Houthi militias are starving children in Taiz as they have detained 64 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid in Al-Rabihi area in the west of the city and Al-Waziya area in the southwest, said Yemen’s Minister of Local Administration and the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief Abdul-Raqib Saif Fath.

He said the militias have been holding 64 relief trucks coming from the port of Hudaydah to Taiz province since November. The trucks were carrying relief aid to Sharhab, Jabal Habashi and many other areas.

He said that Amin Humaydan, the agent who was appointed by the Houtis, went to Waziya and refused to release the trucks and drivers, asking them to provide a list with the names of those who will benefit from the aids.

Fath stated that the drivers had nothing to do with those who will benefit as they are only responsible for the transportation of the goods. He called for the fast release of the trucks and that they reach those who are in need.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni Organization of Monitoring Rights and Freedoms announced that the coup forces committed more than 71 violations in city of Ibb in November.

In a report issued on Saturday, the organization monitored 11 cases of killing, including four cases of torture.

In Beijing, China’s Foreign Ministry expressed concern after Yemen’s armed Houthi movement and its political allies formed a new government, in what appeared a blow to UN-backed efforts to end 20 months of war in the country.— Agencies
