Yemeni army recaptures camp near Bab Al-Mandab

Aden — Yemeni army loyal to the legitimate government, backed up by the People’s Resistance and Arab-led Coalition Air Force, recaptured the Camp of Al-Amri by inflicting heavy defeat on Houthi militias and forces loyal to deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The camp lies to the east of Dhu Bab Directorate of Taiz governorate.
Commanding officer of the 4th Military Zone Maj. Gen. Fadhl Hassan was quoted by the official Yemeni news agency as saying that the army continues its march toward the next area in Al-Jadidah.

He said heavy fighting is taking place, and asserted that military operations will be escalated till the total liberation of the whole western coast form the grips of the rebellious militias and forces loyal to Saleh.
Meanwhile, Yemeni Deputy Premier and Minister of Civil Service and Insurance Abdulaziz Jabari instructed the Chairman of the Public Social Insurance Corporation and the directors of its branches in provinces to stop dealing with the rebellious militias.

The Yemeni official news agency quoted Jabari as saying that Cabinet decisions strictly prohibit receiving instructions or directives, if any, from the rebellious militias.

He stressed that the corporation and its branches should continue abiding by the laws in effect issued by the legitimate government and work to carry out the assignments of the corporation in accordance with its internal regulations.

In a related development, Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Work is distributing 300,000 food baskets in Al-Hodeida province of Yemen.

Fahd Bin Ayedh Al-Osaimi, Director of Urgent Relief department, said that according the plan which has already implemented its phase one in 15 directorates through local partners. Some 150,000 food baskets are to be distributed to 460,000 persons.

He said the program is part of the center’s more than 110 programs already carried out in all Yemeni provinces in cooperation with 79 local and international partners.
