Today, we are celebrating 77th National Day of Pakistan with national zeal and fervor both inside and outside Pakistan. On this auspicious occasion, I convey my sincere felicitations to our community living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and around the world.

March 23, 1940, is a landmark chapter in our history. On this momentous day, All India Muslim League, in its annual gathering in Lahore, adopted a resolution that called for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent where they could lead their lives with dignity according to their aspirations. The Muslims were able to achieve their beloved country Pakistan within a period of just seven years after the passage of the Lahore Resolution. This all became possible under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Today, by the grace of Allah, Pakistan stands tall among the comity of nations and is making steady progress in all walks of life. Home to more than 190 million strong population, Pakistan is a functional democracy with active parliament, strong institutions, independent judiciary, and a vibrant civil society. Our country has been through many challenges over the past 70 years, but with strong support and resilience of our people, Pakistan has been put on the upward and irreversible trajectory of progress and development.

On the economic front, Pakistan has achieved many successes recently, including increasing economic growth rate and per capita income, bulging foreign exchange reserves and stock market indices, and decreasing inflation rates. Similarly, fast progress on the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is proving to be a game changer, not only for Pakistan but for the entire region.

Relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are fraternal and based on commonality of history, culture and religion. Saudi Arabia has always supported Pakistan during difficult times and Pakistan considers the security of Saudi Arabia as its own security. I also offer my sincere thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia for hosting more than 2.6 million Pakistanis in the Kingdom. Our Pakistani community is contributing positively towards the prosperity and economic development of Saudi Arabia as well as Pakistan. We appreciate their contribution in making the relations stronger.

While the Embassy of Pakistan continues to look after the well being of our people in the Kingdom, we also stress that Pakistan nationals remain as ever law abiding citizens and play their due role in the progress and prosperity of Saud Arabia.

Pakistan-Saudi friendship Zindabad.
