Cairo film fest dedicates 39th edition to Shadia

Cairo International Film Festival wished the great Egyptian singer and actress Shadia a fast recovery for her recent health condition. As a sign of support to the beloved actress, CIFF decided to dedicate its 39th edition which kicked off on Nov. 21, to Shadia for her unique and iconic lifetime work. Shadia has been considered an artistic and national treasure; she spent effort, love, and dedication to her acting career, fans, and Egypt. The administration of CIFF is also granting the late iconic actress Faten Hamama two awards: Faten Hamama Honorary & Faten Hamama Excellence. CIFF confirmed that British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley is joining the festival this year as a guest of honor on opening night. Fifty-three countries are participating with 175 films in the 39th edition of Cairo International Film Festival this year. DMC TV Channels, and Cairo International Film Festival administration signed a cooperative and partnership protocol to officially sponsor Cairo International Film Festival for the upcoming 3 years. — Al Arabiya English
