IISD’s ‘EduEX-2017’ a huge success, draws large crowd

DAMMAM — The Annual Educational Exhibition “EduEX-2017” organized at International Indian School, Dammam, concluded successfully drawing a big gathering of parents and community members. The theme of the Expo “Changing Ideas into Reality” was evident from the exhibits displayed by the participants. Over 900 young enthusiastic participants from the Boys Middle Section and Upper Primary Boys Section put up 300 exhibits of innovative working and creative non-working projects. English, Hindi, Urdu and other regional languages Departments also displayed informative exhibits on the respective languages. Islamic and Saudi Arabian Culture Stall depicting the cultural diversity of India and Saudi Arabia, and creating awareness on Islam was the main highlight of the event and appreciated by the visitors. The exhibition was inaugurated by Hussain Maqbool, assistant director, National and Foreign Education, Eastern Province. Ahmed Pulikkal, managing director, Badr Al Rabie Medical Group, was present at the event as the guest of honor. The chairman of the School Managing Committee, Dr. Syed Zainul Abidin, in his felicitation address emphasized the need of integration of experimental learning for optimal results. He lauded the efforts of Headmasters of BMS and UPBS for the excellent initiative they have undertaken. Principal and Head of the Institution Dr. E K Mohammed Shaffe welcomed all the government officials and the guests and summed up the true spirit of the exhibition. The exhibits were indeed an eye opener on various topics reflecting the scientific aptitude of the youngsters. The eminent judges from various schools evaluated the projects. The main attractions of the expo were Smart Village, 3D Hologram, Course of river, Dog jet – Air Ambulance, Wind Tunnel, Tornado Simulator, Lego – Robot, Hydraulic Bridge, 7D Cinema, Ardeuino Radar, Desert Farming, Digital Plotter, and Obstacle avoiding Robot. Earlier the logo for EduEX was released by the chairman Dr. Syed Zainul Abidin, in the presence of Managing Committee members Rasheed Umer and Hasnain Mohammed Akthar and other senior school officials. EduEX -2017 is organized under the aegis and guidance of the Managing Committee, Principal & HOI, Vice Principal AET and other school officials. Lawrence Varghese, headmaster, Boys Middle School Section and Mohammed Ismail, headmaster, Upper Primary Boys Section jointly coordinated the event. The Theme of Eduex -2017 is “Innovations for Sustainable Development” and “Changing Ideas into Reality”. Five hundred and fifty students from Boys Middle Section along with Three hundred students of Upper Primary Boys Section put up more than 270 individual projects supported by teaching staff and headmasters of Middle School and Upper Primary Section. — SG
