Crown Prince gets highest readers' vote in Time Person of the Year online poll

Riyadh — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, has won TIME’s Person of the Year 2017 online reader poll, earning more votes than other world leaders, industry titans, entertainers and activists, TIME magazine wrote on Monday. The 32-year-old crown prince received 24 percent of the “yes” votes cast. Second place went to the people around the world who are part of the #MeToo movement, with 6 percent of the votes. Finishing third, with 5 percent of votes each, were former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, special counsel Robert Mueller and the Dreamers, undocumented immigrants who were brought to the US as children. TIME editors make the ultimate selection for Person of the Year. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman is leading the Saudi Vison 2030 to diversify the economy. The final result will be announced on Dec. 6.
