Jamia Hamdard alumni asked to aid the community

RIYADH — Jamia Hamdard Alumni Riyadh/Alkharj chapter celebrated their 8th Alumni meet here with fervor. The alumni of Jamia Hamdard have been working globally, including Saudi Arabia, and are holding prestigious posts and designations particularly in the fields of academia, research and development, pharmaceutical industry, health care, IT and management sectors.
Jamia Hamdard is one of the pioneer educational Institutions in India. It was established by the resources of a great visionary, the late Hakeem Abdul Hameed. The institution has set the standards for the whole country in the field of pharmaceutical sciences as well as Unani medicine.
Jamia Hamdard Alumni Association is headed by Prof. Nasir Ali Siddiqui, president, Dr. Anzarul Haque, general secretary, Dr. Raisuddin Ali and Dr. Majid Ahamad Ganaie, joint secretaries, and Dr. Muzaffar Iqbal and Dr. Nazam Ansari as treasurers.
In his welcome address, Dr. Majid Ahmad Ganaie emphasized the vision and mission of Jamia Hamdard’s founder Hakeem Abdul Hamid. He accorded a warm welcome to the guests and alumni who had specially come to Riyadh from other places to take part in the event.
Anzarul Haque then made a brief presentation about the structure of the alumni association and called on the alumni to work hard and participate for the welfare of the community. He also talked about the current conditions of the community.
Prof. Nasir Ali Siddiqui highlighted the plan regarding the alumni association. He presented the report card on the association’s welfare work in the past one year. He also presented a letter of communication by Vice Chancellor Prof. Seyed E. Hasnian, who expressed his gratitude and praise for the Alumni Association’s work.
Aneesur Rahman, president of Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association; S.M. Tanveer Alam, president AMOUBA Alkharj, and Syed Muneeruddin, president of Bihar Anjuman Riyadh chapter, were the special guests who attended the meeting.
Before the main program, the association members actively took part in various games including cricket, volleyball and football. Children also took part in various activities and games.
The overall success of the event would not have been possible without the active support and sincere efforts of Dr. Syed Rizwan Ahmad, Ruhul Ain, Dr. Parwez Alam, and Dr. Mohd. Raish, Ali Akhtar, Zafar Iqbal, Naushad Ali, Dr. Javed Ansari and others.
A prize distribution ceremony was held for various activities and games by the guests and members.
Dr. Tajdar Hussain Khan, an advisory member, presented the vote of thanks. He thanked all the alumni who came from different parts of Kingdom as well as the group’s office bearers. The program ended with a delicious dinner.
The program was conducted by Fowad Khursheed, an active advisory member.
