SAYED ZIAUDDIN JEDDAH — ATC downed Universal CC, Black Hawks defeated Crown Blue, Nesma Holidng had he last laugh against Sadafco and Red Sea ALJ just scraped through against Super CC in the quarterfinals of the SCC Morning Challenge Cup. The tournament is being sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and organized by WPCA. Black Hawks defeated Crown Blue by 56 runs. Black Hawks amassed 201-7. Asghar hammered 95 in 56 balls with 3 sixes and 11 fours as he first added 60 with Ishfaque (10) and then 61 with Arsalan (22) after being reduced to 15-2. Abdulrafey made 14. Junaid took 2-22, Qurban 1-26, Usman 1-36 and Zahoor 1-46. Crown Blue, in reply, was restricted to 145-9. Crown Blue had a disastrous start with 6 down for 86. Kashif hit 35, Haseeb 12, Nasir 16, Usman 17 and Zahoor remained unbeaten 20. Abdulrafey scalped 3-31 as one wicket each went to Asghar, Ahsan, Amir, Arslan and Ishfaque. Umpires: Ahmed Rafeeq and Saqeeb Adam. ATC trounced Universal CC by a slender margin of 3 runs. ATC piled up 198-4. Rabih hit 74 in 55 balls with 6 fours and a six. He first added 48 with Sadiq Memon (26) and then 82 in 54 balls with Basharat who scored 53 in 30 balls. Umair scalped 2-19 and Ziad 1. Universal CC batted well to get to 195-6 but fell short of 3 runs. It was a fantastic chase with 9 runs required in the last over and only 6 came from it. Tariq Siddiqui stroked 38 to add 63 with Aijaz Butt who smashed 70 in 36 balls with 4 fours and a six. Later Bilal stroked 21, Ijaz Khan 20, Ziad 21 and Umair 11. Rabih took 2-29, Muzammil 2-35, Abdulrauf 1-24 and Basharat 1-28. Umpires: 1. Imran Mirza and 2. Saleem. Nesma Holding downed Sadafco by 43 runs. Nesma Holding racked up 218-9. Rana top scored with 68 in 34 balls as he first added 57 with Nadeem (15) and then 54 with Anwar Chandi 31. Furquan hit 23, Saleem Mehar 25, Naeem 12 and Javed 13. Faisal Patel grabbed 3-40, Ahmad 2-41, Saqib 1-30 and Abdulrehman 1-34. Sadafco responded with 175. Suliman hit 41 as he added 69 with Ahmed Mugheri 24. Ali Jaan Mugheri scored 22, Faisal Patel 21, Khurram 10, Abdulrehman 22 and Iqbal Patel 13. Saleem Mehar was he wrecker-in-chief with 5-34, Anwar Chandi 3-25, Zubair 1-26 and Zafar 1-35. Umpires: Arshad Chohan and Mohammed Ishfaque. Red Sea ALJ won against Super CC by 2 wickets. Super CC produced 186-8. Super CC after a very disappointing start with 4 down for 48 had a partnership of 65 between Waseem (35) and Fayaz (41) to get to some respectability. Altaf then remained unbeaten on 37 and Hamad hit 16. Tanveer Zamane took 2-28, Bilal 2-32, Shiraz 2-18 and Israr 1-55. Red Sea ALJ, in chase, took 119 balls and 8 wickets to get to the victory target of 187. Basheer hammered 55 in 23 balls to add 50 with Tanveer Zamane (13). Ghayour hit 50 in 27 balls. Red Sea ALJ was in a precarious situation at 145-8 rallying from 92 for 2. But then Israr’s unbeaten 23 and Jibran’s unbeaten 20 took them over the line. Fayaz scalped 3-23, Ismail 2-26, Imran 2-28 and Adnan 1. Umpires: Rahat Ali Choudhry and Mamoon Rafeeq.
