Samanwaya marks birth centenary of Upadhyaya

By Mir Mohsin Ali RIYADH — Samanwaya Riyadh Zonal Committee celebrated the birth centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at the Bharat Hotel Auditorium here. The function was conducted under the leadership of Samanwaya President Sreejesh, and Sunil, national general secretary of the organization. Kundan Lal Gothwal, AGM, Air India, Dominic Simon and Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali were guests at the function. The function started with the welcome address by Madhu, Samanwaya’s regional general secretary, followed by the national song and the customary lighting of lamp by the guests and the Samanwaya office bearers. Official inauguration address for the function was rendered through a video message from V. Muradheeran, national executive committee member and former state president, BJP, Kerala unit, which was played at the function. Presidential address was rendered by Sreejesh. Magesh Prabhakara, vice president of Samanwaya, presented a speech on the Life of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Yogacharya Soumyaji, vice president, spoke on the philosophical journey of the Pandit Deenadayal followed by patriotic songs by the Samanwaya Children wing. Deepak, national coordinator of Samanwaya spoke on the integral humanism philosophy advocated by the Pandit Deendayal, while Babu Kodungallur, senior leader in the group, spoke on the Making of Pandit followed by Vinod, humanitarian convener of the group, who explained the humanitarian activities of Samanwaya organization. Swapna Magesh, president, Samanwaya Women’s wing, spoke on the role of women on Indian national development. Gadha Gopakumar and Devika Baburaj rendered a Carnatic song. During the function, Kundan Lal Gothwal, outgoing Air India Manager, was honored by Samanwaya for his yeoman services to the community. The pricing of AI tickets at reduced fare for the recent Amnesty beneficiaries was noted. Kundan Lal emotionally addressed the gathering and thanked Samanwaya for showering him with love and respect. He said, “Bring up the children with humanity and rest of all the good habits will find their own way to the children.” Samanwaya also honored recent National Award winning RTI activists Simon Dominic. Dominic, in his address, spoke on how RTI can be used to gather information and how the obtained information can be used for rightful purposes. Samanwaya’s National President Sunil, and member, Nandini Ramesh, felicitated the gathering. Gnilia rendered Malayalam poetry followed by a second dance performance by Samanwaya Children wing. Ravi, treasurer, proposed the vote of thanks, while Geetha Binoj anchored the whole program.
