Lance & 3rdy hits Team of the Week treble in FTBJ-ICBL Friday tourney

JEDDAH — League-leading Lance & 3rdy was again in the spotlight, winning its third Team of the Week honors during the ninth session in the FTBJ-ICBL 39th Conference bowling tournament at the Sultanah Mall’s Bowling City on Tahlia Street here.
Cashing in on a fast start, Lance & 3rdy finished the session with the top tally of 39 points and well in front of Mixed Nuts, which returned 34.5 points.
Lance also won the first and sixth weeks and its number of Team of the Week victories was the most by any team thus far in the competition sponsored by Harvest Coconut Water juice drink which is distributed by Binzagr Co. Marketing Manager Raju Nair facilitated the sponsorship.
Dabarkads compiled 31 points on the day at third spot followed by JP Gilas IV 30, Bowling City 28 and TSI Bowlers 26.5.
Cash Pinas-Fawri tallied 21 points in a tie with FGS Bowlers, while Jeraisah, Ekis Reload and Crime Buster were the last three teams to check in on 16, 10 and 7 points in that order.
To Kemo Felimban of FGS Bowlers and Ekis Reload’s Alma Bacero went the individual Bowler of the Week accolade for men and ladies respectively, Felimban shooting the high series of 662 and Bacero firing her division’s top score of 628.
Ding dela Rosa fell short by six points of the 600 series at 594 while taking charge at Lance, which missed only the third game in which it settled for sixth place. Mhon Laxamana carded 589 and Evelyn Santoc had 588 to support dela Rosa.
The other scorers at Lance were Shirley Sagmit on 576, Ric Reformado 217-222 and Pancho Cuevas 179.
Rey Beltran tossed the second-best score of 653 at the helm of Mixed Nuts that had Jay Bengco on 577, the ladies duo of Aileen Miralbuna and Lyn Lopez on 582 and 538, Med Ramos on 224-165 and Oca Bernabe on 192.
Dabarkads drew a pair of 600s from Bing Amolo 634 and Nathy Caringal 617. They also got 598 and 553 from Dan Ednabe and Thess Grandia, as well as 147-174 from Leo Edejer and 168 from Gerry Tano.
Over at JP Gilas Jeanette Cerbito and Randy Mata led the scoring on 600 and 601 with Rene Punzalan missing matching Mata’s output by a pin. Lourdes Punzalan added 546 while Eric contributed 187-173.
Host team Bowling City had the pair of Eloisa Fernandez and Marie Gumpal at the top of the scoring ladder on 607 and 509. Marc Clifford made 535 to go with the 177-128 by Yasser Hokbi, 200-182 by Mohd. Al Amri and 224-184 by Igna Salgado.
