Saudi Oil, UT Lines march ahead in Kanoo League

JEDDAH — Saudi Oil, UT Lines marched ahead with big wins over RF Lions and Royal Brothers, while Butt Sports continued its winning streak over Kashmir Stags, Makkah Kings overcame Makkah Rising Stars and Al-Burj edged out Jamoom Fighters in the 7th week matches of Kanoo Premier League sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
The highlight of the week was a brilliant all-round performance by Atta Khan (59 runs and 5 for 40) to give Al-Burj a narrow 18-run win. Mohsin’s elegant 91 gave Saudi Oil a huge 176-run win over RF Lions. Amir’s spell of 5 for 27 gave Makkah Kings a 40-run win despite Bilal’s fine spell of 6 for 29 for Makkah Rising Stars. Ghafoor (93) and Shad (71) handed UT Lines a 7-wicket win over Royal Brothers. Mansoor (63) and Omar (62) provided Butt Sports a 7-wicket win despite Majid’s 88 runs and 2 for 32 for Kashmir Stags.

Saudi Oil beat RF Lions 176 runs. Saudi Oil 250 for 6 (Mohsin 91, Khalid 41, Shakeel 34). RF Lion 84 all out (Iyas 3 for 11, Tariq 2 for 7, Shakeel 2 for 10, Imran 2 for 14).
UT Lines beat Royal Brothers by 7 wickets. Royal Brothers 210 for 7 (Hamid 86, Hanif 35, Abdullah 30; Hamid 3 for 24, Shabbir 2 for 37). UT Lines 215 for 3 in 13.2 overs (Ghafoor 93, Shad 71, Usman 38).
Makkah Kings beat Makkah Rising Stars by 40 runs. Makkah Kings 199 for 8 (Waqas 43, Furqan 43, Burhan 20; Ijaz 3 for 32, Ghulam 3 for 38). Makkah Rising Stars 159 all out (Tauseef 23; Amir 5 for 27, Walid 2 for 27).
Al-Burj beat Jamoom Fighters by 18 runs. Al-Burj 164 (Atta 59, Sher Khan 52; Bilal 6 for 29, Azam 3 for 29). Jamoom Fighters 146 for 9 (Majid 30, Qasid 29; Atta 5 for 40, Aadil 2 for 35).
Butt Sports beat Kashmir Stags by 7 wickets. Kashmir Stags 202 for 3 (Majid 88, Sajid 46, Naseer 27, Shahnawaz 24 not out). Butt Sports 207 for 3 in 16 overs (Mansoor 63, Omar 62, Rasheed 34 not out; Majid 2 for 32).
Jamoom Fighters, Royal Brothers and Butt Sports along with CH XI and UT Lines dominated in the 8th week matches.
Jamoom Fighters downed Saudi Oil by 74 runs with Bilal’s elegant 67. CH XI mauled RF Lions by 114 runs as Rizwan produced 64 not out and 3 for 8. Butt Sports had to depend on Abdul Rahman (34 and 3 for 55) and Samir’s unbeaten 60 to trounce Makkah Kings by 44 runs. Royal Brothers edged out Kashmir Stags by 27 runs, courtesy of Shaukat’s knock of 63. UT Lines gave a 7-wicket drubbing to Al-Burj with Shad scoring 47 runs.
