Newcastle to meet ACC A in B Div. final
Falcon sets up C Div. final with Youth India

JEDDAH — Newcastle FC will meet ACC A in the B Division final of the 18th SIFF-Eastea Champions League Football Tournament at the Ministry of Education Stadium here.
In two closely-fought semifinals, Newcastle defeated Makkah BCC 2-1 and ACC A prevailed over Blue Star A 3-2.
Falcon FC Thuwal and Youth India FC set up the C Division final, getting the better of Soccer Freaks Seniors 2-0 and Mahajar FC 4-3, respectively.
Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF) honored International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) football team which put up an impressive performance in the CBSE National Championship in Varanasi, India, recently. The IISJ boys, who had won the CBSE Cluster Meet in the Kingdom and qualified for the CBSC national championship, met with players as guests of the day.
Blue Star took the lead against ACC A off a corner kick by Fahad. Experienced Zaheer Bava made it 2-0 for Blue Star as his long bullet shot beat the goalkeeper.
ACC fought for survival and reduced the lead through Riaz Khan. Soon a solo by Niaz leveled the scores 2-2. As the game seemed to end in a draw ACC earned a penalty and Bahawuddin made no mistake from the spot. Shihabuddin Aboobacker was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Newcastle dominated from the start as Naufal Chokli, Shihab and Ubaid attacked the Makkah goal in the second semis. However, goalkeeper Rafi of Makkah made two brilliant saves to deny Newcastle. Soon an Afsal-Naufal combination earned the lead for Newcastle. A clean pass from Afsal was clinically steered into the goal by Naufal. Newcastle made it 2-0 through a penalty by Noor. Yousuf scored the consolation goal for Makkah.
Naufal Chokli was selected as the Player of the Match.
Falcon FC Thuwal blanked Soccer Freakz Seniors 2-0 in a C Division semifinal. Hahif and Saleh Alavi scored for the winner. Soccer Freakz skipper Sirajuddin wasted a penalty kick. Hahid was selected as the Player of the Match.
After Youth India and Mahajar FC drew goalless the second semifinal was decided by penalty shootout which went in favor of Youth India 4-3. Rashid Mohsin was adjudged the Player of the Match.
