Over 1,000 high school students attend career workshop at Effat

JEDDAH — Effat University, in cooperation with Ithraa Consultancy Group (ICG), hosted more than 1,000 high school students in Jeddah in a Choose Your Career workshop.
Held under the support of Princess Lolowah Al-Faisal, vice chair of Effat's Board of Founders and Board of Trustees, and general supervisor of the university, the event had Princess Dima Al-Saud, a graduate student of the University of Jordan, as the guest of honor. Princess Dima has participated in several international events for women empowerment. Speakers and presenters of the workshops offered comprehensive advice and counseling to the students on choosing a major, career options, professional development and decision-making skills. They told the students inspiring stories and innovations and how to deal with self-choices.
The CYC Global Test was also held to identify the specialization and personality analysis of a number of female students who attended the workshop.
This important initiative comes from Effat to support its future vision of enhancing the role of young women and the university to serve the community, the university said in a press statement.
Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Lail, president of Effat University, said: We are very happy to cooperate with Noha Al-Yousuf, CEO of ICG, to help the girls play an active role in building the business community in Saudi Arabia based on Vision 2030, because one of the university's roles is educating community to learn about their aspirations and specializations.”
She added, Effat University seeks to inspire the leaders of the future so that they can have a better life and achieve their aspirations and dreams to provide the best for their community and those who surround them.
The speakers included inspiring academic and community figures, such as Effat Provost and Assistant Professor Dr. Malak Al-Nory, Noha Al-Yousuf, and Meshaal Al-Harasani, a Saudi inventor, and Heba Kadi, founder and general manager of Apdit Company for Content and Innovation. The ceremony was presented by Dr. Malak Abu Nar, dean of student affairs at Effat, and Dr. Hatoon Kadi, associate professor at Dar Al-Hekma University. — SG
