Misk Institute of Arts to hold second exhibition in New York

NEW YORK – The Misk Institute of Arts will hold its second exhibition at the Philips Expo Center in New York on the sidelines of the visit to the US by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
The 4-day exhibition will showcase art and cultural works reflecting Saudi heritage under the title “Saudi contemporary art”.
It will also screen a documentary entitled “Reframe Saudi”, which talks about the current Saudi life through the eyes of Saudi young men and women.
Executive Director of Misk Institute of Arts Dr. Ahmed Mater said: “In line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and in implementation of the goals of Misk Foundation, the Institute is helping the Saudi youth show their talent, represent their country in international exhibitions and present their country’s culture and arts. The objective is also to encourage cultural exchange and interaction with others within the Kingdom and abroad.”
Mater added: “The documentary film “Reframe Saudi” is based on virtual reality technology. It talks about a society that is rich with diversity. It presents the picture through the perspective of the new generation of contemporary artists and their observations on the new stage the Kingdom is witnessing socially and economically.”
He said the exhibition showcases the major works of 27 artists representing the Kingdom’s various regions.
The first exhibition was held in Washington on March 21 at Kennedy Exhibitions Center.
