Waqar Naseem Wamiq RIYADH — Thousands of cricket lovers including men, women, young & old enjoyed the live screening of Pakistan Super league PSL-3 final match between the Islamabad United & Peshawar Zalmi from the National Stadium Karachi mat the country Cricket Club in Riyadh organized by the Black Cinema productions (BCP). Islamabad United lifted the Pakistan Super League trophy after defeating Peshawar Zalmi by three wickets. The cricket gala was the part of the Pakistan Day celebrations that also attracted the visitors for a mega food festival arranged by the BCP. The proceedings were ably conducted by Omair Shaikh and Waqar Wamiq. Pakistani Community Welfare Attaché Mahmood Latif was the chief guest of the live screening of the final match. Saudi media personalities Cyma Aziz and Nihad Aziz, prominent Pakistani community members Asghar Qureshi, Prof. Tasneem Amjad, Muhammad Faiz Abu Tayyab, Ch. Muhammad Mobeen, Riaz Rathore, Ehsan Abbasi, Dr. Tariq Aziz and many others enjoyed the thrilling moments of the game with thousands of cricket lovers and Pakistani community members. Speaking on the ocassion Latif said, “We are a peaceful nation and our message for the world is to spread peace and harmony in any kind of circumstances. We were the victims of the terrorism that paused the proceedings of the sports in our grounds especially the happenings of international cricket were badly affected but with our great sacrifices against the terrorism and with the initiative of PSL now the international players are playing on our grounds. The world has witnessed that the city of lights “Karachi” is once again kindled with the happening of the mega final event of PSL.” BCP awarded the sponsors and the supporters of the event with the awards and certificates in a short but elegant ceremony. Latif distributed the awards to the main sponsors Billal Arshad of Friendi mobile & Shiraz Alam of Middle East Automobile & Tourism Club (MAC). Shumaila Shahbaz, general secretary of Humnava ladies club, Athar Shah of Events Arena & Riyadh Freaks, Zakaullah Mohsin of Urdu News & 24HD TV, Abid Shamoon of Takbeer news & TV, Irfan Jamil of Venus Garments, Gulzaib Kiani of PYF, Aasif Sheikh of Royal Academy of Cricket and Omair Shaikh of VIP were also awarded. Speaking on the ocassion Mahmood Yaseen, the main initiator and the senior member of BCP, thanked the honorable guests, visitors, sponsors, voulanteers and supporters that make the mega success of the event. The ceremony was then followed by the musical performances, quizzes and the food festival.
