Effat University celebrates the graduation of 827

JEDDAH — Effat University celebrated the graduating of 827 students in a graduation ceremony at Effat University’s Hall, under the patronage and presence of Princess Lolowah AlFaisal, vice chair of the Board of Trustees and General Supervisor of Effat University.

The ceremony started with the national anthem, and then graduation march from the start of the reign of the Custodian of the Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman.
Saudi women have been given the opportunity to share the goals of the Kingdom in achieving the Vision 2030, a vision that aims to increase the participation of women in the workforce from a percentage of 22% to 30% by year 2030.
“This challenging and encouraging climate gives Saudi women and the graduates of Effat University a further incentive to participate in the advancement of our beloved country,” Princess Lolowah said.
She also addressed a few words to the graduates, saying: “We all have a mission to fulfill the vision of Queen Effat Al Thunayyan. A vision that preceded its times and now travels alongside the Vision 2030 which gave women many advantages and opportunities to fulfill their role in the advancement of our country alongside men.”
Keynote speaker Simonetta B. Verdi, director of the government and community relations of Ford Middle East and Africa, and the second Keynote speaker, Dr. Manal Redwan, consultant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also spoke.
After that came speeches of the graduates, which were presented by the valedictorian students; Abrar Mohammed Abulzawaid, student of the Master of Urban Design, and Anum Haroon, student of Computer Science.
Salma Algahafis, graduate of Electrical & Computer Engineering, also spoke and she said: “Push yourself out of your comfort zone, join a club or even start one, learn a new skill, lead a campaign or an organization. The more you reach out, the more you understand yourself; your strengths, your weaknesses, your goals, and the closer you get to the greatest version of yourself.”
She added: “The further I move in my journey, the more I learn of the value Effat University has added to my personal and professional lives.”
The ceremony ended with honoring of students by Princess Luluwah Alfaisal and Dr. Haifa Jamal Allail. — SG
