Following the successful launch of the Xbox One console from Microsoft, Xbox presented the fourth edition of the true Gaming Xpo 2014 in partnership with True Gaming, in a two-day event that wrapped on Oct. 17 at the Khuzama Conference Hall, Riyadh.
Xbox presented a variety of activities and competitions as well as providing gamers with exclusive access to some of the world’s bestselling games. A number of games including Sunset Overdrive, Assassins Creed Rogue, Project Spark, The Crew, Destiny, FIFA 15, Forza Horizon 2, Killer Instinct, The Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor and The Evil Within were made available for attendees to sample ahead of their release in the Kingdom. The event also featured a number of competitions including Super Smash Brothers Championship, FIFA 15 Championship and Cosplay Competition.

Xbox revealed several much anticipated games such as “Sunset Overdrive”, a high-energy open-world shooter set in the not-so-distant future from Insomniac Games that delivers an always-changing gameplay experience with an arsenal of explosive and overpowered weapons.
The event also provided access to “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, a unique combination of a non-linear story and an open world – a fantasy RPG focused on player choice, tactical combat and an immersive environment. Spinning the tale of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster hunter, “The Witcher 3” aims to attract gamers with a mature and compelling narrative told as no other game has before. With over 100 hours of handcrafted core and side quest gameplay, “The Witcher 3” redefines the genre and shapes RPGs of the next generation.
“Killer Instinct” also made a return, after nearly a decade, the popular fighting franchise returns to Xbox One with the characters and combos that revolutionized fighting games. “Killer Instinct” is enabled with robust progression and rewards, dynamic challenges customized to player behavior, and predictive matchmaking for seamless competitive fights.
Other highlights included “Dead Rising 3,” the next installment of Capcom’s massively popular zombie franchise coming exclusively to Xbox One that takes open-world action to a whole new level; “Project Spark,” an open-world digital canvas that enables anyone to build, play and share their own worlds, games and stories with millions of others online. — SG
