Veteran sports journalist Zafar Iqbal passes away in Pakistan

Veteran sports journalist Zafar Iqbal died after a prolonged illness Sunday morning in Islamabad, Pakistan.

JEDDAH – Veteran sports journalist Zafar Iqbal died after a prolonged illness Sunday morning in Islamabad, Pakistan.

 

Iqbal, who had worked with mass circulation Urdu newspapers in Pakistan, was associated with the Jeddah-based Urdu News for 18 years. He moved back to Pakistan a couple of years back following ill health. He is survived by three children.

 

The Pakistan Journalists Forum in Jeddah expressed condolence on the death of their former colleague, whom it had given a life-long membership in recognition of his untiring services. — SG
