JEDDAH — King Abdullah Military Centre Hospital (KAMC) and Madini Transporter scored wins following high-scoring games in the fourth round of Saudi Arabian Glass Company (SAGCO) Basketball Invitational here over the weekend.

KAMC secured a 101-83 victory over Al-Sorayai with forward Glen Manalili contributing 28, while Huerto and Ansing supported with numerous assists and rebounds.

KAMC played the fourth quarter with aggression and collected 28 points. It created chaos in the Sorayai ranks as it succumbed to its second straight defeat.

Madini Transporter vs. Al-Tayar was also a high-scoring affair, with the former coming out on top 101-93. The fourth-quarter introduction of point-guard Chris Gonzales turned Al-Tayar’s eight-point lead into an eight-point deficit with John Leal netting 28 points.

Aquino displayed his skills with rebounds and helped put Al-Tayar on top at the end of the third quarter, but his time on the bench cost his team the match.

Dondon Hipolito was the highest scorer over the weekend with 31 points. That effort helped Wintek down the strong Pepsi team by a mere 1 point, 82-81.

Matex defeated tournament favorite SAGCO Red 77-75, a result that visibly disappointed the home fans.

The Reds saw a 4-point lead disappear at the end of the fourth quarter and a penalty decided the game. In a desperate attempt to salvage a draw, Carlos Morada of SAGCO Red, ran past several Matex players but ended up faltering in front of the basket as the whistle blew.

Sunbulah got the better of Al-Yamamah, 77-64. Ariel Sarreal of Sunbulah was named the MVP of the game for his conversion game.

John Paul Angeles and Loyd Alona ensured an 83-72 victory for Caravan against SAGCO Blue.
