Saudi designer Hania Al braikan, crafted her new HANIA fashion abaya line to boost breast cancer awareness last month.
Using silk, chiffon and Japanese crepe with luxurious elements like Swarovski crystals, AlBraikan caters to a certain clientele for formal and daily use abayas.
The designer created six abaya’s in the iconic pink HANIA collection in October. She told Saudi Gazette: “Part of the collection was also created in pink to support the most important cause breast cancer, which is something very close to my heart.
The new collection consists of different colors, which are inspired from flowers. This collection is different as I have used new colors that have never been seen before in a HANIA collection.
The fabric has also been specifically matched with the embroidery details.” When asked how the theme plays with fashion and trends, she said: “We choose from fashion what is suitable for an abaya and what translates perfectly.
I try to mix fashion and traditional abayas without losing its identity. This is most important.” She added that the bright colors were used to reflect an optimistic image to support women.
