Saudization only serves to handicap Saudi workers as they do not have any competition, and when there is no competition people do not grow. Jobs should be given based on qualifications and fitness for specific positions rather than based on nationality. It may seem like a good policy now but in the long run, this will have a negative impact as you are giving authority to those who do not deserve it.

It is easy to bring about the Saudization of the job market. All you have to do is get rid of the visa mafia and put industrial checks and balances in place instead of harassing expatriate workers who are here on legal visas that have been issued to them. Why are there no checks and balances? Why is everyone simply playing with the minds of Saudis by telling them that expatriates have taken all of their jobs?

Saudis have full rights in their country, but the government needs to prepare them physically and mentally to take over the jobs that expatriates are now doing.  If people have a positive attitude, it will transform the job market.

Saudization is meant to provide long-term opportunities for Saudi workers and should not be simply a matter of complying with labor department regulations. Those who are employed must be qualified, trainable, willing and capable. Saudization does not mean employing more security guards in a certain company just to meet the requirement.

The problem is that Saudi Arabia does not want to evaluate the devastating results of enforcing Saudization. Many companies in the private sector are either understaffed or are filled with unqualified staff to comply with this requirement. This results in an increased workload for the rest of the staff affecting their health and family life.

Saudization is only a short-term solution. In the long run, there are many drawbacks of Saudization for Saudi workers. But at the end of the day, expats will leave this country, and the jobs that they are now doing will have to be done by Saudis. Therefore, Saudi workers must be trained so that they acquire the necessary professional skills and attributes.
