Bid to siphon off SR400,000 foiled

Customs officers arrested two men at the Al-Batha checkpoint on the Jordanian border for attempting to smuggle SR401,900 out of the Kingdom.

RIYADH — Customs officers arrested two men at the Al-Batha checkpoint on the Jordanian border for attempting to smuggle SR401,900 out of the Kingdom.



 Al-Batha Customs head Abdulrahman Al-Muhana said his officers caught the men while going through their daily inspection routine.



 They found SR81,900 in their personal luggage and chocolate boxes. They also found SR320,000 hidden in one of their socks.
