MERCK Consumer Health Care - a consumer health division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, a global pharmaceutical and chemical company, recently inaugurated its new offices in Jeddah.  

 

The gathering was under the supervision of Erich Nobis, the Senior Vice President of Export Markets, attending on behalf of Merck family, with the presence of Merck Saudi partner Sofian Banaja, Vice President of Banaja Holdings, and Frau Annetta Klein, Consulate of Federal Republic of Germany.

 

Wael Abdulmalik, General Manager of Merck CH in Saudi Arabia, said "this occasion marks the inauguration of our new offices in Jeddah as part of Merck  intercontinental platform and boosting our presence in the Kingdom which has been for 30 years. He added: "This important step aims at offering greater focus on KSA specific issues and needs, being closer to our consumers and healthcare professionals and providing smoother supply of medicines to The Kingdom. Through locally manufacturing in Saudi Arabia we are also aiming to build and train national expertise and talents in the field, provide best in class consumer health products, and build long term partnerships with the Ministry of Health, the SFDA and other healthcare bodies".

 

Sofian Banaja, Vice President of Banaja Holdings, said: "We were very pleased with our long-lasting partnership with Merck in KSA in providing best in class consumer care, and we will continue to invest in the development of our systems to match and surpass the global standards for pharmaceutical distribution within our partnership with the Ministry of Health and other authorities in providing complete, world-class healthcare solutions to patients in KSA."

 

Abdulmalik said "the aim is to continue to address regional healthcare issues, identify and capitalize on synergies in the region especially Saudi Arabia (being the largest country in the Middle East)."
