Whether you are a brand or an artist, your signature is key. At Ritz Carlton, apart from the Credo that curates or perhaps leads service standards in the hotel industry, they have developed another signature, only this time with a cake.
What really generates loyalty is the hotel’s hardworking team referred to as ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ and their mission to create an experience that can bring you back.
However, known for their culinary expertise, they decided to launch something familiar, globally loved yet distinctively theirs. Introducing the signature Ritz-Carlton cake.
Packed in a matte black box and wrapped with a silver gray ribbon, the box itself is a prize and a classic gift idea.
Corporate Chef Rainer Zinngrebe took a classical, and even a few common ingredients to create a unique taste that convey the history of Ritz-Carlton.
He added sweet chocolate with a sharp citrus for cocoa lovers using Valrhona chocolate and Grand Marnier (orange flavoring). The chocolate-orange cake is a delicacy loved by many across the globe. The recipe was chosen from 23 proposals from all around the world.
The winner was a young Japanese pastry chef from the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto. “I just wanted gut feeling and global relevance. We rated for flavor, but the key was, would you buy the cake? Would you buy it and take it to a friend’s house? That for me was the biggest decision maker,” Chef Zinngrebe said.
‘The Cake’ is divine, a true gift to dark chocolate aficionados with surprising bursts of sweet orange in every bite. Now you can have the whole cake and eat it too.
It makes sharing a bit challenging but that is why you can gift one. If Tiffany’s packaging represents the love for jewelry, then ‘The Cake’ represents its name and has made its way to the red carpet waiting to go home with you.
