JEDDAH — Qaderoon Business Disability Network  celebrated the International Disability Day in an event held last week at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), participating with the network’s members, partners and guests.



Qaderoon confirmed its support for the rights of persons with disability and do their role that shows their ability in developing the community and the nation.



The ceremony included an agreement signed with the JCCI on its joining as a contributing member of the network.



Amr Khashoggi, Vice President, Group Affairs for Zahid Group and Chairman of Qaderoon, spoke about the role of Qaderoon and its efforts to support persons with disability be employed in the companies.



The celebration is in line with Qaderoon’s efforts aimed at raising the awareness of business owners to include persons with disability among their work forces through the creation of an appropriate work environment, structures and platforms and share the best practices in this area, in addition to its efforts to urge various stakeholders to adopt policies that support the recruitment and training of persons with disabilities.



Khalid Sindi, General Manager of Qaderoon Network, reviewed the importance of hiring persons with disabilities and the network’s achievements during the last period, as well as the aims and goals of Qaderoon next year.



Qaderoon emphasized the raising of awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities to work and integrate themselves in the workforce, aside from conducting several training and learning programs on their inclusion into the network’s members. Sindi said “today, we invite everybody to contribute in changing society’s perception and attitude regarding our brothers and sisters with disabilities, and support and include them in the community and provide them their rights.”



He added “we are confident that we have conveyed our message through this important celebration and we hope to reach a higher level of organization and coordination with the private sector, government entities and local organizations in order to adopt the best practices and form interactive networks that focus on the interests of persons with disabilities, and to educate the public that these persons have capabilities that put them on an on equal level with others when it comes to the development process.”



The Business Disability Network - Qaderoon looks forward to organize and coordinate with stakeholders  (including companies, public departments and entities and non-profit institutions) and shed light on the shared benefits between the employer and employees with disability by developing employment methods and policies with in cooperation with business owners.
