Tateossian is celebrating its 25th anniversary in January 2015 by launching their special luxury collection.

British designer Robert Tateossian after seven years of being a banker, decided to fulfill his ambition to start his own fashion business by starting Tateossian that specialises in  contemporary and unique accessories for men.

In an interview with Saudi Gazette Tateossian said that despite all the success he believes that he still has a lot to achieve and is still in the beginning process.

“We are celebrating our 25th anniversary next January, and I am so excited for the next upcoming 25 years and what we are going to do,” Robert said.

He decided to work in the fashion field and travel around the world. “I wanted to be an entrepreneur by starting my own business.”

Based on that idea he decided that cufflinks were the safest best at a time when there were only a few players in the industry doing the same.

“So I identified this opportunity, designed the collections, started to do fashion shows around the world and we started to sell to customers all around the world.”

Gradually business grew, and he started doing men’s accessories along with women’s jewellery.

“Women change their mind frequently and they want something new season after season, while with men it is much more traditional and much more predictable so you do not have to change season after season.”

The company is based  in London and has eight full time designers along with 73 employees, selling in 71 countries around the world including the Middle East.

“I’m lucky because 70 percent of the time I am traveling all around the world, so it is easy to get inspired.

It could be from a visit to museum, art exhibition, architecture or even culture, so basically it can be anything and everything.

And always keep an eye on the world of fashion to see what is happening there. I get my inspiration from everything I see around me,” he added.

Accessories for men are more functional rather than decorative according to him.

“The male accessories hold a sentimental and talismanic value depending on who gives the man the gift like wife or daughter.”

The material used is usually gold, silver, precious stones and he also customises exclusive pieces with diamonds or gold that can cost up to $15000 to $30000.
