Education company sets up 400 school clubs in 2014

RIYADH – The Tatweer Company for educational services formed around 400 public schools clubs in 2014 throughout the Kingdom.

 

The company followed Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s program to develop public education and provide a safe and active environment for children of the neighborhood to spend their leisure time.

The program funded public schools clubs with a budget worth SR350 million a year and seasonal clubs for SR50 million a year.

 

On Sunday, the Minister of Education Prince Khaled Al-Faisal attended a presentation given by the company on its new plan to open 100 new clubs this year.

 

It aims to have 1,000 new public school clubs open by 2017.

The clubs aim to give children, children with special needs and toddlers, students and parents a safe and productive environment to learn and have fun.

 

The clubs also aims to improve community spirit because they offer activities and events during the day and in the evenings.

 

Among their activities are IT courses, skills development courses, rudimentary courses, theater plays, reading circles, talent competitions, sports activities, scientific excursions, national programs, voluntary work, festivals and carnivals and family and psychological consultations.

 

The rules for opening a club are that it is located in a public establishment that is less than 5 years old, the neighborhood the club serves must have a dense population, safety and security regulations must be adhered and public services and facilities must be available nearby.
